Review of the 2009 1st Annual Las Vegas Super Convention

What happens in Vegas definitely does not stay in Vegas, as this diecast convention was the talk of the town and spread across the nation as well through the international world. The 1st convention promoted by online social collecting network DIECASTSPACE.COM, revitalized the diecast collecting and convention industry will its new take to diecast conventions.

Rather than going through the traditional route of having just one diecast company as a sponsor, they chose to have all scales and all brands of diecast companies, thus giving more to the convention goer and diecast collector to see, and buy.

The events were standard as you had bingo, downhill racing, poker, in-room trading, charity auction, autograph sessions to name a few. The days were packed and the events were fun.

What was a nice surprise was the Hall of Fame Dinner and Award Ceremony. The Diecast Hall of Fame was created to honor those individuals that have made an impact on their field of expertise. Of some of the inductees were George Barris, Larry Wood from Hot Wheels, Vince 'Vman' Mosley, Shane Whiitenbarger and Jerry Yates from DiecastSpace, Mike Zarnock, and Bob Parker to name a few.

The experience was a blast. Look forward to going to the next Super Convention in Vegas.

Review of the 2009 Hotlanta Collector Experience

This past year and summer was the 1st annual Collector Experience which was held in Atlanta, Georgia at the Hilton. The event was great as not many conventions have been in this area lately or in years past, and it was nice to meet diecast car collectors and car enthusiasts from all over the country.

The Legends Dinner was great with Nascar Legend Bobby Allison as the guest of honor.

The convention had its bingo, custom car contest, downhill racing, and in room trading.

This event marked the introduction of Diecast Uno. Although it was unfamiliar waters, many embraced the event and at times, seemed as ruthless as the final table round at the World Series of Poker.

There was no shortage of celebrities as attendees were able to talk and meet Miq Wilmott, Eric Tscherne, Rohan Day, Chris Parker from HWC, Bob Parker, and Mike Zarnock to name a few.

There was a nice display of 1:1 Cars on display including a 2010 Shelby Mustang and Viper Coupe SRT8.

The next collector experience will be at the Swan and Dolphin Hotel in the Walt Disney Resort World in Orlando,Florida. For more information, you can go to collectorexperience.com or call 877-832-2779 and ask for customer service.

Review of the 2010 Las Vegas Super Convention

The recent Super Convention in Las Vegas has come and gone but the memories live on. With over several hundred in attendance and companies like Greenlight Diecast, Collectable Corner, Liberty Promotions, and Custom Crew to name a few, the diecast collecting industry has never been stronger. Diecast kustomizers were on hand such as DK Kustoms, Kevan Bence, Chris 'Night Stalker' Walker, Bryan Johnson, SD Chop Shop, and Execution Kustoms were on hand to show their newest creations. Diecast Designers such as Bryan Pope were displaying and selling his new limited edition VW Drag Buses.

Celebrities were far and wide at this event. Car designers like Phil Reihlman, Larry Wood, John D'Agostino, Dwayne Vance, Tom Daniel as well as writers Mike Zarnock, Bob Parker, Sid Belzberg, and Mac Ragan were on hand to sign autographs on their latest publications.

The highlight of the event was the Hall of Fame, Class of 2010 Induction Ceremony, and the Legends Dinner with Chip Foose. The HOF Dinner was spectacular with a special and moving tribute to a fallen comrade for the diecast and DiecastSpace family, Shane Whittenbarger. His family were present to view and experience this sad but moving tribute. The Legends Dinner was a blast with the Chip Foose as the guest of honor. Its always good to hear and see the man behind the custom car classic work.

The Diecast Bingo, Diecast Uno, events were also great as well as the Custom Diecast Car Contest, Downhill Racing, run by the Texas Diecast Racing Association, The In Room Trading and the Charity Auction. It was a fun time to be had by all and look forward to next years convention in Las Vegas.
